Hearts supporters wing in the Ashanti Region swarmed his residence in Kumasi after the news was announced while large numbers of Kotoko fans including Alhaji Ali Maradona, a staunch Kotoko fan, also paid visits to his residence in Kumasi and paid glowing tribute.
Kanawu appeared upright with his believes and supported the 2000 African champions religiously and with great relish.
