Aggudey admitted at Korle Bu
A Former Presidential candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), George Aggudey is currently on admission at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
Mr Aggudey was admitted after he started his three-month jail sentence at the Nsawam prison for defaulting in the payment of SSNIT contributions of his workers.
Media reports suggest that Mr. Aggudey has been granted bail but the Head of Public Relations at the Prison Services, DSP Courage Astem told Citi News, that although Mr. Aggudey was at the hospital, he was still under police custody.
“He is still in our custody with police officers guiding him at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital,” he said
According to DSP Astem, Mr Aggudey will not be freed until authorities give instructions for his release.
“We are reading from the newspapers that he has been freed but that is not the case with us. Until we get the authorities to instruct us to free him, we will not release him.”
