Ghana is safe – Dutch Embassy
The Dutch Embassy says it has no immediate plans of alerting its citizens living in Ghana about a possible terrorist attack although the United Kingdom has done so.
The UK government this week warned its citizen to be vigilant as Ghana is a possible target of a terror attack following a terrorist attack in Nairobi Kenya.
The Dutch Embassy has however revealed that currently, it has no intelligence to prove that Ghana is unsafe for its citizens.
The Dutch ambassador to Ghana, Hans Docter told Citi News, “Ghana is a safe place but like any safe place, you have to be continuously vigilant for threats that come outside so also in the Netherlands, we have to be continuously vigilant for possible terrorist attacks”
He however advised Ghana to “be vigilant as well but there is no immediate new information that will lead us to a different assessment at this point in time and I don’t believe it is the same for the United Kingdom.”
According to Mr. Docter, European countries have had “a long standing warning to be careful and that even here [Ghana], something could happen.”
