Black Stars’ Wollacott injury before start of World Cup 2022; some say its Juju?
The Black Stars custodian is now a doubt, just a day before the final squad is named
After Ghana goalkeeper Joe Wollacott was injured before Charlton Athletic’s match against Burton Albion on Saturday, fans have claimed this could be the work of juju.
Wollacott suffered the setback just days before the World Cup finals in Qatar, where he was expected to be the Black Stars’ first choice.
The timing of the injury, according to some fans, is questionable, as some allege the use of Juju. Juju is a belief system involving the use of magical power.
This could be a double setback for coach Otto Addo as Richard Ofori – who has often deputised the for Charlton custodian – was ruled out of Orlando Pirates previous games, although he is expected to be fit.
Addo is expected to name his World Cup-bound squad on Monday, but with the recent setback, he may consider other alternatives that were not initially in his plans.
Some fans have recommended that Ibrahim Danlad and Lawrence Ati-Zigi be considered.
