Are naked pictures and videos against the law in Ghana?

A Legal Practitioner , Richard Asante , has confirmed that disclosing one’s naked pictures and videos on social media is against the laws of Republic of Ghana.

Addressing Kwabena Asare via interview on kenyasi based radio 105.1 in the Brong Ahafo region, explained that once you are of sound mind and an adult and you deliberately post naked pictures and videos it is illegal.

He added that only doctors are eligible to examine that one is of sound mind or otherwise so once someone is arrested of such act the next thing to do is to invite doctor for the assessment.

As to who to has the capacity to make such an arrest, Asante said “anybody who has a chance to watch the act is in a position to report and sue the alleged person behind the act”

Richard Asante was reacting on the rampant naked pictures and videos being posted on social media lately. He went on to say that due to our culture and laisse fair (I dont care) attitude most of these culprits are not prosecuted as compared to other countries especially the Islamic ones.
