Never Compare Sarkodie To Me, He Is A Baby – Tinny.
For the numerous music lovers in the country and across the continent of Africa, Ghana’s fastest rapper and 2012 BET award winner, Sarkodie, is the best rapper in Ghana and it should take little for one to accept that for a fact after listening or seeing him perform.
Sarkodie’s colleague rapper, Nii Addo Quaynor popularly known as Tinny however cautions that Ghanaians should monitor the Tema based rapper for at least a decade before passing judgement on him as being the best in the country.
Speaking to Flexy on e.tv Ghana’s entertainment review programme, Talk Showbiz, Tinny mentioned that though Sarkodie is doing marvelously well in the music industry, he is still young.
“When Sarkodie ‘chop’ ten years, then we see,” he said in pidgin English.
“He is a baby but he is doing well. Yeah. He is taking Ghana to some level but I can’t rate him with myself just like Jay Z and Lil Wayne. There is no way you can compare the two. Never,” he continued when asked to compare his performance to that of Sarkodie in recent times.
“I wouldn’t have to compare myself to Sarkodie. He does Twi, I am Ga, you know. Like a defender and a striker, they are two different positions.
Tinny who is currently working on his fifth studio album revealed that his father is no longer his manager as his record label, Kankpe Records is currently under his management.
On Glo’s endorsement
In recent times, fans of the hip-life artiste have hardly seen him perform at any of the major music events and according to him, his endorsement of Globacom is the basis.
“In some way it has (affected me) because people always say, ‘we don’t see you on stage as before.
“Though you don’t see me on stage, you still hear my songs on the air. You might not be seeing me on stage but you can still get my video on youtube and watch it.”
He promised to be bigger in the new year stating that “2013 is action year. It is the regular champion year. It has been quite some time now but the people should watch out for new Tinny all together.”
