Psquare at loggerheads, Likely to go solo
Several reports and sources are suggesting that all might not be well in the Square Mansion as pop twins Psquare are allegedly at loggerheads. The twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye, who have worked as a singing/dancing duo for close to two decades, might be going their separate ways following a series of fracas. Inside sources in the Psquare camp claim the brothers got into a fight on April 16, 2014. The twins apparently got into a war of words during one of their rehearsals, right in front of their band mates, and they got physical. Nothing has been confirmed yet but elder brother and manager Jude ‘Engees‘ Okoye might have dropped a hint of the on-going brouhaha. Hours ago, he wrote on Twitter; ‘After over 10yrs of hard work, it’s over. Am done (sic)‘….Sources close to the twins are claiming that the trouble between the twins is linked to their new marital status. ‘It has to do with one of the wives,’ a source told NET. NET exclusively reported in November 2013 that a large majority of the Okoye family were not happy that Peter Okoye married baby mama Lola Omotayo. Elder brother Jude Okoye did not attend their wedding. Square Records publicist Bayo Adetu has however denied the rumours. ‘I can’t waste my time on irrelevant news, where do people get this kind of things from?‘, he told NET over the telephone. Psquare debuted in 2003 with the album ‘Last Nite‘, which produced the singles ‘Seniorita’, ‘Igbedu’, ‘Last nite‘. Their third album ‘Game over‘ (2007) is regarded as one of the biggest pop albums to be released in the history of contemporary Nigerian music, reportedly selling over five million copies. Other albums released by the twins include ‘Get squared‘ (2005), ‘Danger‘ (2009) and ‘Invasion‘ (2011). Psquare is considered one of the biggest pop singing duos in Africa….
