Schalke boss Keller hails Kevin Boateng leadership qualities
Boateng, who was born in Berlin but switched his allegiance to Ghana in 2010, signed a four-year deal at the start of the season from AC Milan.
The former Tottenham Hotspur man has become an important piece for the side, helping them to fourth on the table.
Schalke manager Jens Keller is full of praise for his summer signing and labels him as real leader.
“There are many players out there who think they are leaders, but address issues through the media. Kevin isn’t like that, he addresses problems within the squad,” Keller said.
“If you look at his body language at the pitch, the younger players can always look at him as an example.
“Even when things aren’t going so well, he is always pushing on, he has always got his head up. That’s why he such an important player for us.”
