The incident is alleged to have happened back in April 2013 at the Plaza Hotel in New York – around three months before Lydia gave birth.
However, following the alleged attack, Lydia went until November before filing a police report, with no indication as to if she sought medical attention following the reported assault.
But a source close to the the 36-year-old musician has insisted to TMZ.com that the claims are untrue, adding that Dream believes the Canadian Nam is a ‘vengeful woman who’s plotting to use this alleged crime as a way to extend her visa in the U.S’.
he alleged assault isn’t the first domestic violence case that Dream has been accused of being involved in.
TMZ.com also reported that Dream was arrested last June following an incident that also involved Nam, but she declined to press charges, meaning the the case was rejected by the District Attorney.
MailOnline has contacted a representative for The-Dream for comment.
Dream is a famous American producer who has worked with artists including Britney Spears and Rihanna.
He is also responsible for having co-written some of the world’s most famous songs, including Beyoncé’s Single Ladies and Rihanna’s Umbrella.
Dream has three children with his first wife Nivea, as well as a daughter with second wife Christina Milian and a son with Nam.
