Daddy Lumba Treasures Ampong Style of Songs.
Highlife Legend, Daddy Lumba has revealed that he treasures the way Isaiah Kwadwo Ampong sings. He noted that he treasures the way Great Ampong is and some of the songs he has done so far.
Speaking in an interview with yen.com.gh, Daddy Lumba, known in private life as Charles Kwadwo Fosu explained further that he opted for Ampong for his gospel album due to the fact that Ampong was bold enough to contact him that they should come up with a gospel album.
“I treasure the way he sings. He was the first to contact me for the two of us to come up with a gospel album. I treasure the way he is and some of the songs he has done so far”, he reiterated.
When asked about his impressions after working with the “Maranatha” singer, Daddy Lumba humbly said, “Ampong is a good guy, good composer and song writer”.
Briefing yen.com.gh on his new Gospel Album, Daddy Lumba noted that the album is aimed at glorifying God for what he has done for him and using it as a tool to draw people to Christ, but was quick to add that he will go back to highlife again.
“I started off as a gospel artiste n decided to do highlife and now I am back to gospel, but will definitely go back to highlife, he stressed.
Elaborating on the launch of his upcoming album, Daddy Lumba noted that all is set for the launch of his gospel album with Great Ampong on November 28, 2015. The launch will take place at the Glorious Wave International Church at Sakumono under the leadership of Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi.
The album titled “Hosanna” has 10 tracks and all the songs are written partly by Daddy Lumba and Ampong. The album recorded by Roro, mastered by Bodo Staiger, a german and produced by E.T. Akono took one and half years in writing.

The Multiple award-winning highlife rtiste, disclosed that he has three more gospel albums with Great Ampong, which are yet to be released.The album launch is expected to attract a number of personalities with almost all gospel artistes passing through to show their support.
Daddy Lumba announced his presence on the Ghanaian music scene in the early 1980s, with an album titled ‘Yeeye Aka Akwantuo Mu’ which he collaborated with Nana Acheampong.
After the release of ‘Yeeye Aka Akwantuo Mu’, Daddy Lumba has been consistent with the release of multiple hit albums. In 1999, he won three awards, including Best Album of The Year and the Most Popular Song of The Year at the Ghana Music Awards.
His solo career has not been short of controversy; as to whether he is a gospel or a secular artiste, a notion he has dispelled. His music has evolved over the years to reflect the changes in taste and demands for music to an extent that one can currently describe him as a contemporary highlife artiste.
Lumba has won several Ghana music awards and other excellence awards and continue to appeal to the young and old.
