Double Track System Process has been smooth – OLA Girls SHS Headmistress
The Headmistress of Ola Girls Senior High School at Kenyasi in the Brong Ahafo region has today disclosed that the processes to enroll students under the double track system has been smooth in the school.
In an interview Rev.(Sister) Antoinette Abiwu, explained that the authorities of the school were able to put good measures in place to ensure that parents and students access the process with ease.
According to her, the school is able to adhere to the directives given at a workshop held in Accra some weeks back concerning the introduction of the double track system.
She said for both the first and second tracks, the total number of students is 485.The first track will enrolled 282 whiles the second will cater for 203 students. Out of the 485, 331 are boarders and 154 are day students.
Rev.Sister Abiwu outlined some few challenges in respect to the system. One being that some students from far away communities have been admitted as day students and as such parents are faced with the dilemma of providing off school grounds accommodation for their children. Another being that the subjects detailed at the Accra workshop for the gold track, starting in November this year, have been changed to the dismay of parents.
Rev. Antoinette advised the parents whose wards are expected to enrolled in the 2nd track to get some books for the students to keep them busy and again to keep a close eye on them since they have no alternatives. She believes the second track will have much smoother start.
